A new version of the SIP VoIP Settings applications has been made available for Symbian^3 devices. This updated application enables users to configure VoIP settings on Symbian^3 devices supporting Nokia S60 VoIP Release 3.1. What can I do with the SIP VoIP Settings applications? The SIP VoIP Settings applications enable you to define the parameters for a VoIP profile, which are not accessible through any standard feature of Symbian or the S60 platform. The applications enable you to create VoIP profiles and modify existing ones. Within a profile, you can create and modify VoIP parameters, such as speech-codec settings, and NAT-firewall-traversal settings, such as SIP domain-specific settings. You also can use an OMA Client Provisioning document to import and export VoIP profile settings. Together, those capabilities enable you to easily set up devices for testing VoIP applications and to test alternative settings without having to provision VoIP settings over the air. How are the SIP VoIP Settings applications delivered? The SIP VoIP Settings applications are provided as signed SIS files that you install on a Symbian or S60 device in the usual way. Three applications are provided, one for S60 devices implementing VoIP Release 2.x, one for S60 devices with VoIP Release 3.x, and one for Symbian^3 devices with VoIP Release 3.1. Each application is supported by a guide that describes how to use the application and details the various VoIP and NAT-firewall-traversal settings that are available. |
